Are you getting the following error message when accessing the Blackboard Learn link from my.lssu.edu. If so, here are some directions on successfully accessing Blackboard.

 

Removing a previous assigned faculty from your course

Has the course been re-assigned to you over the summer, or at the beginning of this semester? If so, the faculty who was previously assigned to the course will continue to be part of your corresponding Blackboard course. Here are some directions on removing extra faculty who are part of your course.

Student View Tool now available on Blackboard

To view your course as a student:

1. Login as the instructor to your course

2. Select the Go To Student View button at the top right hand side of the screen. The Go To Student View button toggles to Return To Teacher View. View the course as a student.

3. To toggle back to Instructor view, select the Return to Teacher View button.

Paste from Word tool

When pasting text from Microsoft Word or other word processing programs it is important to use the Paste From Word Tool to prevent formatting problems.

Text that is copied from Word includes various html codes. These extra codes sometimes makes the text appear unformatted. Hence if you are pasting text from Word, use the Paste from Word tool. Click here for step-by-step instructions on using this tool.

 

How do you add videos to Blackboard?

What are the various course roles available in Blacbkboard Learn?

Each user can have only one role per course. These roles are course-specific, so a single user could be assigned the Instructor role in one course, but be assigned the Student role in another course.

  • Both Instructors and Teaching Assistants have full access to the Control Panel area. The only difference between the two roles is that teaching assistants' name is not listed as the instructor of the course.

    2. The Course Builder role has access to the Content Areas, Course Tools and portions of the User Management sections of the Control Panel.

    3. The Grader role has access to the links in the Assessment section of the Control Panel, including the Gradebook tool.

    4. The Student role is the default course role. Students have no access to the Control Panel.

    5. The Guest role has no access to the Control Panel, nor any items under Communication nor Tools.

Blackboard Inc, has compiled copyright guidelines for users posting course content to Blackboard, click here to view the guidelines.

My Blackboard CE8 course had a e-pack installed. How do I transfer the information to Blackboard Learn?
All course e-packs have to be re-installed with content from publisher's that is compatible with Blackboard Learn 9.1 materials. If your Blackboard CE8 course contained e-pack content, only parts of the content would have been transferred.
