About Investment Club |
 |
The Investment Club is one of many student organizations at Lake Superior
State University. Since the club’s founding in 1999 students have gathered to
enhance their knowledge of stock analysis, economic trends, global financial
behavior, and stock portfolio management.
After a generous grant from the university, the Investment Club has been
holding a portfolio of securities and cash which has seen numerous recessions
and recoveries. The portfolio is purely student run and will continue to be as
this presents opportunities for students to follow market data and conduct
fundamental stock analysis under the advising of LSSU finance Faculty.
The club’s focus and mission is not only to learn more about stock investing,
but to create and manage a portfolio that is competitive to the S&P 500
stock index. Students discuss and pick stocks which they think will outperform
the S&P 500 on a risk adjusted basis to create a long term and sustainable
portfolio for future students of Lake Superior State University.
