Dig out your Laker attire, because every Friday is a Laker Friday, a celebration of the blue and gold, and an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to show their Laker pride by donning LSSU colors and apparel. Break out that Laker hoodie, blue sweater or Laker anchor earrings and show your colors!
The LSSU Public Safety Office, in conjunction with the Chippewa County Office of Emergency Management, will be conducting what is commonly known as an 'active shooter' exercise on Friday, Jan. 10, in the Center for Applied Science. The building will be closed and locked between 8:30 a.m. and noon. While the building is locked, no one will be allowed in until after the exercise has been completed, unless they are participating in the exercise. The exercise will start in CAS 212. During the exercise, you may notice more law enforcement vehicles on campus, and simulated gunfire. This exercise is open to any employee regardless of the building where you normally work. This includes Physical Plant employees. At this time, students are not allowed to participate. This is one in a series of exercises that may lead up to an all-campus drill. It will be the same type of drill that was done in the Fletcher Center last August.
All new students are required to attend orientation, where you'll meet with an academic representative, register for classes, learn about academics and life at LSSU, meet new and returning students, and more. To register for orientation, please visit www.lssu.edu/orientation.
