Polar Plunge for Special Olympics

9:00 AM until 12:00 PM


Description: For the 11th year in a row, members of Tau Kappa Epsilon International fraternity at LSSU are convincing fellow students and members of the community to jump into the icy St. Mary's River for charity. The event, part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, benefits Special Olympics Michigan. Registration begins Saturday at 9 a.m. at The Antlers restaurant at 804 E Portage Ave. followed by the parade of costumes. Participants will start jumping into the river at 10 a.m. at Rotary Park. The post-plunge party and awards ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. at The Antlers. Last year, more than 100 people jumped into freezing water, raising more than $9,000. Spectators are welcome. TKE's Polar Plunge is one of 27 events planned throughout Michigan from January through March.

Description: Come and watch college basketball and enjoy the following food specials: $3.99 burger or hot dog basket; $1.49 onion rings; $1 fountain drinks.

Laker Softball Team's Take Me Out to the Ballgame Dinner

5:00 PM until 7:00 PM


Description: Join the LSSU softball team for its annual Take Me Out to the Ball Game dinner. Last year, more than 100 fans, students and family attended this event to get acquainted with the Laker softball team and help it get ready for its spring break road trip. There will be a pasta bar with your choice of noodles and an assortment of sauces, as well as Italian salad and garlic bread. The Alumni Association will be preparing homemade desserts, which are included with the dinner. In addition, we'll have raffle prizes, games, and music, so come out and support your Laker softball team as it kicks off its 2013 season! Tickets are only $5 and may be reserved in advance by contacting Coach Lori Shimasaki. They will also be available at the door.

Seamore Shuttle

6:00 PM until 10:30 PM

Organization: Campus Life Office

Description: The Seamore Shuttle is a free service provided by the LSSU Campus Life Office that takes LSSU students downtown and to places on the business spur such as Family Video, Big Lots and other stores in the Sault Plaza, as well as Varsity Cinemas. Pick-up and drop-off is at the Walker Cisler Center. Shuttle runs from 6-10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 1-10:30 p.m. on Sunday.

OPeN LaTe! at the Galley

Laker Cinema presents Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 2

Description: Laker Cinema presents Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 2. After the birth of Renesmee, the Cullens gather other vampire clans in order to protect the child from a false allegation that puts the family in front of the Volturi. Check it out at 9:45 p.m. on Feb. 15-16.
