Laker Fridays are an opportunity for LSSU alumni, students, employees, friends and area businesses to show their support of Lake Superior State University by donning LSSU colors and apparel. Whether it's a blue suit coat, a gold sweater, a Laker hoodie or a pair of Laker anchor earrings, put it on come Friday, because every Friday is Laker Friday.
Dr. Veronica Pinnick, a research scientist who works with NASA's Mars Curiosity Rover, talks about what the purpose of Curiosity is, how it was built, what analytical tools are being used; then some pragmatics of how the rover was launched, how it landed, why the landing site was selected, and what the rover has found so far. Then she shares an update on 2018 ExoMars rover, how it is different than Curiosity (both in its design and mission goals), and its current status in designing and testing.
