Come out and support the fight against cancer in Lake State's first color run! We are hosting the color run today with proceeds to go to the War Memorial Hospital Oncology Dept. The run will take place throughout campus with a designated path and checkpoints where runners will be powdered with different colors corresponding to the different types of cancer. This is not a competitive run; all skill levels are welcome. Whether you run your heart out for the cause or walk the trail to show your support, all are welcome! Entry fees include a long-sleeve Colors for Cancer T-shirt: $25 for 18-up, $20 for 17-under.
Everyone is welcome for the Recreation Club's fourth annual Cardboard Boat Regatta. You and your team will build a boat using cardboard and duct tape and then race it across the Norris Center pool. All supplies -- including pink duct tape in recognition of breast cancer awareness and the coming Pink in the Rink -- are provided free to LSSU students. Construction starts at 11 a.m. on the fourth basketball court in the Student Activity Center. Bring a team of five, or fewer, and your imagination. Prizes will be awarded for most creative, fastest, and longest standing boat.
The Seamore Shuttle is a free service provided by the LSSU Campus Life Office that takes LSSU students downtown and to places on the business spur, including Varsity Cinemas. Pick-up and drop-off is at the Walker Cisler Center. Shuttle runs from 6-10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday.
