Function and Responsibility
Under the administrative supervision of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, provide for the leadership, management and administration of the Library, Audio-Visual and Interactive Television, Perkins/Occupational Education Services, the Learning Center, Academic Advising, Continuing Education, Career and Personal Counseling, Testing and the Resource Center for Students with Disabilities.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate Library, AV and ITV, Perkins/Occupational Education Services, and Academic Services functions and services. Provide leadership in planning and coordination of programs, goals and objectives. Participate in the development of academic and university policies. Establish and maintain communications and relations between academic services faculty and staff and other university personnel, external agencies and institutions.

Recruit, interview and recommend for employment prospective faculty and staff; schedule and assign departmental responsibilities to faculty and staff; make recommendations on tenure, retention, and promotion of faculty and staff; evaluate faculty and staff performance; administer the collective bargaining agreements.

Prepare, recommend and administer the departmental budgets; approve payroll for faculty, students and staff.

Serve on one or more of the following: the Curriculum Committee, General Education Committee, Sabbatical Leave Committee, Promotions Committee, and other committees as assigned.

Perform related duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications
Earned doctorate with a Masterís degree in Library or Informational Science from an accredited school; three to five years professional library experience in an institution of higher education.
 
Physical and Mental Demands
Adequate physical fitness to be able to sit and concentrate for long periods of time; use of fine motor skills to operate computer; problem solving ability; ability to understand and work with numbers; ability to see, hear, and speak with or without the use of aids to perform normal office tasks.
