Function and Responsibility
To coordinate career awareness and college preparation activities for students in grades 6 -12. Collect, maintain & archive data collections. Provide assistance to the overall operations of the Native American Center and Campus Diversity Committee as needed.

The KCP College Day/GEARUP Program Coordinator is under the direct supervision of the Director of the Native American Center and Campus Diversity.

This is a half-time (20 hours per week), twelve-month position.

 
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate and establish proactive programming that encourages academic success, emotional and social growth and personal development of students participating in the KCP College Day/GEARUP Program.

Serve as a liaison between the University, local tribes, community, and schools.

Collaborate with various University departments to provide interactive opportunities for participating students.

Collect, analyze and organize data from participating schools.

Prepare budgets, program reports, cash requests, and other relevant documentation as needed.

Coordinate and participate in various community/committee meetings relevant to the KCP College Day/GEARUP Program.

Assist with the operation of the Native American Center and Campus Diversity activities when necessary.
 
Qualifications
Minimum of Associate Degree in business administration, office administration, or related field. Two years experience working with schools and local tribes preferred. Willingness to work as part of a team. Willingness to work a flexible schedule on occasion. Ability to work independently and problem solve to create solutions and make decisions. Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint) and SCT Banner Software knowledge is beneficial.
 
Physical and Mental Demands
Adequate physical fitness to maintain busy schedule; use of fine motor skills in operation of keyboard equipment; problem solving ability; ability to understand and work with numbers; ability to work with numbers in budgetary preparations; ability to learn and follow University procedures and protocol.
