Title: Banner Analyst
 
Function and Responsibility
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Banner Analyst will be responsible for analyzing Banner processes across all Banner modules (Student, Finance, Human Resources and Advancement) to identify process improvements, develop and integrate work flow, automation of processes and provide functional support of Banner processes and 3rd party applications integration.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Cross-module functional support of Banner processes
• Recommend process improvements to modules and Information Technology
• Recommend 3rd party tools for process automation and enhancement
o FormFusion, AppWorx, etc.
• Work with module leads, end-users and Information Technology to improve Banner processes
• Evaluate work flow processes and make recommendations for improvement
• Identify processes for automation and automate them
• Perform business process analysis using established LSSU and SunGard guidelines
• Establish and document best practices for LSSU Banner processes
• Participate in Banner end-user team meetings (process teams)
• Evaluate data reporting needs and assist with report implementation
• Develop and maintain documentation as required
• Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (a total of five years experience), two years of which involve experience in Admissions, Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid, Finance, Human Resources or Alumni development. Candidate must possess good computer skills; ability to interact and communicate positively with users and external consultants.

Desirable:
Experience with SunGard Banner environment
 
Physical and Mental Demands
Adequate physical fitness to be able to sit and concentrate for long periods of time; use of fine motor skills to operate computer; problem solving ability; ability to understand and work with numbers; ability to see, hear, and speak with or without the use of aids to perform normal office tasks.
