Alum Success

"LSSU prepared me for my career in a variety of ways, by exposing me to a wide range of ideas and areas of focus within my field, by developing the independent thinking and curiosity that would be required to pursue graduate work, and by fostering the confidence that I could make it happen. LSSU really did put the foundation under my aspirations; in fact, it allowed me to develop these aspirations in the first place."

Christopher Fink, PhD
Assistant Professor and Department Chair, Physical Education Department, Ohio Wesleyan University

  • Julie Matheny, Dafter, MI, studied mood states of post-cardiac rehabilitation patients who choose to continue an exercise program.

  • Hillary Hartman, Drummond Island, MI, studied LSSU students' exercise habits and compared gender differences.

  • Bonnie Seleska, Dexter, MI, studied the effects of lower-body and core-resistance training on a person's one-mile run time.

Bonnie Seleska"The exercise science program at LSSU has prepared me for my future both academically and practically. The one-on-one attention and knowledge I received from Jody Susi helped me gain the knowledge and leadership skills I need to pursue my goals. Practical experience, individual student attention and hands on learning is what makes Lake Superior State's Exercise Science program truly superior!"
