Luke Fera of Sault Ste. Marie graduated from LSSU in 2006 with a degree in biology and is now working toward a master's degree in epidemiology at University of Western Ontario in London. He plans to continue his studies in the medical sciences.

Course Registration Information


Current Student Registration Instructions

On-Line Course Registration Instructions
(My LSSU - Anchor Access)

  1. Make an appointment with your academic advisor. You can find out who your academic advisor is by contacting the Department of your Academic Major.

  2. Print out a On-Line Registration Worksheet to keep track of the Course Registration Numbers (CRN) -see "Check for available Courses" below. You may also want to print out a Trial Registration Form to make sure none of your classes have time conflicts. Bring these sheets with you when you meet with your advisor.

  3. Check for available courses. Login to My.LSSU within the LSSU Web Services channel click on Anchor Access. Click on Student and Financial Aid than click on Registration, click on Look-up Classes. Search by Term. Select the Subject. You may refine your search using the drop down boxes within the form. Click the Class Search button. Determine the courses you are interested in taking and note the CRN number located in the CRN column.

  4. Please note: All students registering in 12 or more credit hours must be currently admitted as full-time students. Full-time status is considered 12 – 17 credits. Additional tuition is charged for 18 credits and above. No student may register for more than 20 credits without written permission from their Academic Dean.

  5. Check for Holds. Login to My.LSSU within the LSSU Web Services channel click on Anchor Access. From Student and Financial Aid, click on Student Records, click on View Holds to view your holds. You will not be able to register until all holds have been cleared.

  6. Meet with your advisor. Consult with your advisor and the LSSU Catalog, which outlines your degree requirements and includes information about the courses you need. Remember to check for prerequisites. It is your responsibility to satisfy all stated conditions and prerequisite requirements (or have the instructor's permission to waive them). Enrollment may be revoked (with an N grade) if ANY of these conditions have not been met.

    If you do not have the proper prerequisites for a course, or the course requires instructor permission, contact the instructor for the course. The instructor can give you permission to enroll in the course by going to Anchor Access, Faculty Services, and completing an "override" for you to take the course. If the instructor is listed as staff, please contact the academic department responsible for the course. Once the instructor has completed the "override" for a course, you will need to login to My.LSSU from the LSSU Web Services channel click on Anchor Access, click on Student and Financial Aid, click on Registration, click on Add and Drop and register for the course.

    Once you and your advisor have planned your courses for the upcoming semester, your advisor will remove your “Web Advisor Hold” allowing you to register on-line as of your on-line registration date. This takes the place of the Advisor's signature. Please remind your advisor to remove your hold!

  7. Register for your classes on-line. Login to My.LSSU within the LSSU Web Services channel click on Anchor Access. Click on Student and Financial Aid, click on Registration, than click on Drop and Add Classes.

    Enter the five digit CRN on the Add Classes Worksheet located at the bottom of the page. When you are done, click Submit. The screen will indicate whether the class(es) have been added to your schedule. If the class(es) have not been added, the screen will indicate the reason why; the class is full, a co-requisite course is required; you have a time conflict with another class, instructor permission required, lack of prerequisites, etc.

    You can also click on Class Search. Complete the Class Search Form and click on Class Search. Select the box in front of the CRN (C identifies a closed class) and choose Register or Add to Worksheet.

    To DROP courses, click on the Down Arrow for each individual course, select DROP VIA WEB, then click submit.

    You will be able to add and drop your classes on-line until the end of the sixth day of the semester.

    As of the first day of the semester, you will NOT be allowed to drop all of your courses (withdraw from the University), on-line. You will need to complete the official Withdrawal Form and submit it to the Student Service Counter in the Fletcher Center for Student Services. Please read the Registrar's Office Official Withdrawal Policy for important withdrawal information.

  8. Update your personal information. In Anchor Access click on Personal Information, click on Address and Phones or Emergency Contact, etc. to make sure your personal information is still accurate. Update as necessary. If you are a foreign student attending LSSU with a SEVIS I-20, you must notify the Registrar's Office immediately if your SEVIS U.S. or SEVIS foreign address changes.

  9. Print a copy of your schedule. Under Registration & Student Detail Schedule. The Week at a Glance will give you a grid format Schedule.

  10. View your charges on-line. Students will need to click on Account Summary under Student Records to view tuition charges. The charges are reflected in real-time.
