HOUSE SPEAKER TOUR – Lake Superior State University Aquatic Research Laboratory Co-Director Ashley Moerke introduces Michigan House Speaker Andy Dillon (D – 17th District) to Atlantic salmon fry slated for release in June 2009. Lab staff gave Representatives Dillon and Gary McDowell (D – 107th District) a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility on Aug. 19, including plans to expand fish research and rearing space by four times into the west end of Edison Sault Electric's St. Mary's riverside hydroelectric plant. The lab's efforts have created one of the best Atlantic salmon sport fisheries in the world. Looking on from left are LSSU President Rodney Lowman and his wife Linda Richardson-Lowman.
