SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. -- Sault Ste. Marie will be buzzing with activity during the first annual "Sault Ships & Sailabration," Aug. 3-4, a combination of traditional "Downtown Days" and "History Fest," among other annual events.
The most exciting happening to take place during the two-day Sailabration includes multiple performances by the U.S. Navy Band Great Lakes, and excursions on the Inland Seas, a schooner that will be docked on the St. Mary's River at Kemp Marina.
Downtown activities include the annual "Slashin' Ashmun Auto Show," the "Lock City Motorcycle and Scooter Show," children's games and activities, old-fashioned sidewalk sales and, of course, the U.S. Navy Band performances.
History Fest will take place on historic Water Street, just a few blocks from downtown, and will feature a native encampment and historic re-enactors. It will also serve as the docking site for the Inland Seas at nearby Kemp Marina.
