Description:
Set deep in the Bible Belt, The Stonewater Rapture follows two teenagers as they confront the collision between strict religious ideals and the complicated realities of growing up. Whitney, newly elected president of his church’s youth ministry, attempts to navigate desire, doubt, and morality, while Carlyle wrestles with trauma through the lens of faith and fantasy. As their beliefs are tested, the two must face truths that challenge the world they’ve been taught to trust. Directed by Noah Lucé, this intimate two-person drama offers a stark, moving examination of innocence, conviction, and the cost of trying to reconcile faith with lived experience.

Description:
The Reduced Shakespeare Company—America’s legendary masters of comic reduction—charge into the Arts Center with their newest literary tornado, All The Great Books (abridged). This ninety-eight-minute thrill ride explodes the literary canon with the troupe’s trademark speed, wit, and brilliant irreverence.
Confused by Confucius? Baffled by Brontë? Wish Swift were swifter or Tennyson tinier? The RSC’s three fearless cultural guerillas guide you through everything you never quite finished reading in school—now faster, funnier, and gloriously unhinged. A laugh-packed celebration of literature where less truly is more.
Called a “trio of Modern Marx Brothers” by the Boston Herald and praised as “intellectual vaudeville” by The New York Times, the Reduced Shakespeare Company (RSC) is one of the most celebrated comedy troupes in the world. Known for their lightning-fast wit, improvisational brilliance, and hilarious “abridgments” of massive topics, the RSC has performed everywhere from the White House to London’s West End, where they shattered records with the longest-running comedies in West End history. They’ve toured across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia; appeared frequently on NPR and the BBC; and earned international acclaim for their side-splitting, high-energy performances. Having the RSC perform at the Arts Center is an extraordinary opportunity to experience one of the world’s most inventive and beloved comedic institutions—right here in Sault Ste. Marie.

Description:
What does it mean to be human in an era shaped by artificial intelligence? With curiosity and compassion, SYREN Modern Dance invites audiences to consider that question in At the Table, a bold new work that blends dance, science, sound, and storytelling.
Choreographed by Kate Sutter with an original score by Lauren Cregor, this evening-length piece unfolds across nine distinct sections—each exploring a facet of our evolving relationship with AI. From machine learning and media saturation to hope, fear, and the emotional terrain of our technological age, the dancers delve into the complexity of how we live, connect, and imagine the future.
Performed by SYREN’s dynamic company members—Alice Chacon, Rivkins Christopher, Jessica Nolan, Lynn Peterson, Roxanne Potes, with Jules Assue as swing—At the Table invites us not to retreat from change, but to pull up a chair and participate. The work suggests that by claiming our place in the conversation, we can shape the narrative of our shared future together.
Featuring:
Choreography – Kate Sutter
Composer / Pianist / Vocalist – Lauren Cregor
Music Producer – Alex Weinstein
Violin – Doori Na
Cello – Emily Brausa
The creation of At the Table was supported by SYREN’s individual donors, the Museum of Science–Boston, NXTHVN, the O’Donnell-Green Music and Dance Foundation, the Aleph Fund, and collaborators including Victoria Ellis and kamrDANCE.
Founded in 2003, SYREN Modern Dance is a women-led, New York City–based nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to modern dance. Their innovative work at the intersection of dance and science has taken them to 16 states and internationally to France, the UAE, and Germany. In 2022, the company was named Cultural Ambassadors by the U.S. Department of State.
