Lake Superior State University’s Behavioral Concerns Team (BCT) is an interdisciplinary team charged with addressing the health and well-being of students and the campus community. Focused on preventive and supportive intervention, BCT seeks to promote student academic success and safety through appropriate and timely response. BCT discusses the following types of concerns:
Serving as a centralized coordinated body for discussion and action, BCT gathers information about students of concern and/or critical incidents and assesses that information to develop a response strategy for the needs of the student as well as the welfare of the community. Team members share information with others on campus as necessary in order to manage the situation effectively. The team will identify the person(s)/unit(s) responsible for coordinated follow-up and response and will monitor the disposition of a case to gauge whether additional follow-up is needed, determine if the response was effective, and summarize applicable lessons learned for future cases.
If you have a concern that you believe may warrant the involvement of the BCT, please complete and submit a report at: https://lssucampuslife.formstack.com/forms/studentofconcern.
